Conditioning your wig

February 26, 2013

In this dry winter weather beware of defective deep conditions!!! There is a common misconception that deep conditioning a wig means leaving it in conditioner for an extended period of time: a few hours, or even overnight! On the contrary, no more conditioner will absord in an hour than in just a few minutes, unless you help it along the way. Also, when left in conditioner, you run the risk of loosening the stitches that hold the hair in place in your wig… WE suggest placing conditioner only on the ends, placing it in a ziploc bag and gently heating it up with a blowdryer for a few minutes. This will open the cuticle to absorb more of the conidtioner. Please make sure to rinse it completely clean in order not to leave any residue behind 🙂
